BRIEF
All participants have been challenged to design an app for listening to classical music that also aimed to teach some theory through a learning area. The contest took just two days to design three sections: discover, learn and paywall plus the logo of the App.

Colors: I was inspired by the black and white photography of the composers of the 1800s, so I chose to preserve the B/W to be used as my UI primary colors.
In addition, I've noticed that the most used color scheme for the classic music communication is White + Yellow or Brown, so I went for a more sophisticated color, the Old Pink.
Imagery: I chose to match the quality of classical music with the quality of the sound reproduction through the vinyl. In fact, to design the logo of the app, I combined the Beethoven's Symphony No.9 with the vinyl shape and I used the circular form of vinyl as a UI pattern in the App.

“The Ninth” takes its name from the famous composition written by Beethoveen. The purpose of this section is to show high quality and sought out content, making it available for amateurs, newbie, experts and, why not, musicians.
The format plays around the number “9”, showing, for example, 9 playlist at a time and 9 latest stories.

Inside the “Learn” section, users can appreciate history and instruments of classical music, through quick and playful Challenges (10 min max). For instance, it could be asked to the user to repeat the notes of a famous symphony or to guess a track. Levels are not only reached through challenges, but are also result of the habitual usage of the user (listening to several composers or to certain compositions).
